Four County Players is located in the Barboursville Community Center, a historic school building dating to the 1930s. As one of our patrons says, “The star of the show is the Four County theater itself. There is so much warmth in that old school building, and I’m so happy each time I walk through the doors.” While the theater’s charming ambience makes seeing a show here special, knowing a few things in advance can help enhance your theater experience.

Arrive early! The house opens 30 minutes before curtain. You’ll want to be there then so you have plenty of time to find parking, get your tickets from Will Call, and make your way to the theater.

Before the show. Retrieve your ticket from the house manager who will be stationed on your left in the lobby. Take advantage of our restrooms before curtain time since lines are typically long at intermission.

Enjoy the Bistro. We offer local beer and wine, a variety of snacks, and freshly popped popcorn–all of which you are welcome to take into the theater with you. And to avoid the line at intermission, fill out a preorder form before the show, and we’ll have your order waiting for you. While we accept credit and debit cards, the internet connection in our rural location can be slow. Those in line behind you appreciate patrons with exact change!

Grab some merch and join Four County Players. The membership table offers Four County themed Christmas ornaments, hats, tote bags, and other goodies. And becoming a member of Four County helps make sure the shows will keep coming.

During the show. Those on stage and behind the scenes love a great audience. Applaud, cheer, and laugh at all the right places. Don’t sing along unless asked, and please, stay off your mobile device. If you’re fortunate enough to have snagged a front row seat, remember to keep body parts, programs, drinks, and other possessions off the stage.

Accessibility. Handicap parking is available to those with a permit. Tickets for accessible seating for guests with disabilities and companions are available through the box office only. Call 540-832-5355 to purchase tickets. We have a lift that will take you up to the Mainstage level or down to the Cellar level. Just let us know you’re here, and we’ll send a member of the house staff out to operate the lift. Trained service animals are permitted to assist guests inside the theater. To request seating that will accommodate the service animal, please purchase tickets by calling the box office
