Scott Bates [he/him/his]
scott@fourcp.org

Scott was classically trained on clarinet, flute, and saxophone beginning when he was nine. In
high school he started training his voice and taught himself guitar which led to his career as an original
rock artist for the last four decades. Touring the Southwest, Scott appeared on many radio and TV programs
and was a returning guest at The Grand Ole Opry in Nashville in the early 90’s. In college he
studied theater and radio/TV production and produced, filmed, and edited a six-week, one-hour comedy
competition for local cable television in Amarillo, Texas. He retired from touring in 2007, permanently
moved to Orange, Virginia, in March of 2017, and instantly fell in love with our little theater. He was
assistant stage manager for The Lion In Winter, audio technician for Hello, Dolly! and played guitar
for A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Barboursville Ruins.
