Rehearsals will take place at Four County Players in Barboursville as production time nears; earlier in the process, rehearsals will be held in Charlottesville. Come out and audition for this innovative, ensemble production!

ROLE DESCRIPTIONS:

Ferdinand (male, 20s or late teens) -- Ferdinand is the Prince of Naples, an idealistic young man who finds himself shipwrecked on Prospero's island. Thinking he has lost his father, friends, and homeland, he then meets Prospero's daughter, Miranda, and falls immediately in love. A character full of hope, wonder, openness, imagination, and emotion.

Alonso (male, 40s-60s, or late 30s willing to "play up" in age) -- Alonso is the King of Naples, Ferdinand's father and an enemy of Prospero in the day's before Prospero's banishment. He too is shipwrecked on the island and is wracked by the belief that his son Ferdinand died in the shipwreck. A complex character -- not a straightforward "villain" -- he is actually the most redeemable of Prospero's enemies. A politician unaware of the depths of treachery amongst his fellow courtiers, and, in essence, a man devoted to his son.
